(251) Homo naledi: echolocation in Rising Star Cave

Basic Dimension

http://sexualreligion.blogspot.com/

July 2018:
1800  fossils
18 individuals

Assumption 375The best strategy for Homo naledi to enter the Rising Star Cave without any form of light was guidance by grass cables, combined with echolocation. But it is quite well possible that they have placed grass cables first, using burning fat as light in big open spaces as Dragon's Back Chamber.

Assumption 377The Rising Star Cave was chosen for 'rebirth without soul' just because of its inaccessibility. Reborn creatures on their way to the womb left the cave with the same route as they came in. Only they knew the way to Dinaledi Chamber. Had Dinaledi Chamber been more accessible through a now disappeared entrance, Homo naledi had probably rejected this cave for rebirth without soul. Then, it was only usable for reincarnation or resurrection of the soul. The soul cannot be harmed by intruders and is able to pass blocked chambers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQav0CTLzTs  (23:08):

BTW, 3D-inspection and other physical research revealed no other entrances into the Cave, also not in the past, not for a million years.

The God of Darkness forbade the use of light, but Homo naledi still had his hearing, his tactile information (touch-based) and his 3D-spacial orientation. We take the latter for granted for primates sleeping in trees at nights. In the dark Homo naledi could feel the forms of the cave entries and last but not least he could use echolocation with 'click-sounds'.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQav0CTLzTs

Of course, making fire would consume all oxygen in the cave. Then the sleeping death would suffocate at rebirth. So, no traces of fire have been found. The stay in the cave was also limited by the production of CO2:

But in fact this is not true. Only in Dinaledi Chamber CO2 alarm could have been a problem. Probably, it took them many years to dare to enter this chamber. And then only for short periods of time. The problem was transport of fire through the Chute

So, they probably had no light in Dinaledi Chamber when transporting bodies to the distant crevices of that space. Concluding, they probably used no light in Dinaledi Chamber.

Actually, Homo naledi could have used burning fat in the bigger open space of Dragon's Back Chamber and on the other side of Superman's Crawl. But because they probably could not transport fire through the Crawl they must have made it on the spot in Dragon's Back Chamber, which is not impossible.

So, in principle they also might have made light in Dinaledi Chamber, though unlikely.

Then, eventually we might agree that they have laid down grass cables, guided by light from burning fat, but that the bodies were transported without light later on, by echolocation or without any other method at all.

Remember, the God of Darkness could not stand light and if he fled deeper into the earth then rebirth became totally unattainable. Realize, this super operation was a scientific masterpiece of Homo naledi. From a society with military discipline immersed in empathy.

We know they had fire 300.000 years ago and we will use it in this scenario. But if echolocation also works without light then Hominids possibly entered cave systems much earlier.

The cave is known for many years and nobody knew Dinaledi Chamber. All traces of fire and the presence of Homo naledi are contaminated or simply destroyed. In big spaces as Dragon's Back Chamber we even do not find soot against the walls.

Echolocation

Ben Underwood lost his eyes as a toddler to retinal cancer. He amazed everyone he met, including teachers and doctors, with his ability to use echolocation to get around safely. He would click his tongue and listen to the sound waves he created to identify objects in front of him – a skill more commonly used by bats and dolphins. He refused to use the white cane that would label him as blind and lived as normal a childhood as possible by playing basketball, practicing karate and skating:

(Ben Underwood died of cancer in 2009.)

Inquiry

I asked someone with limited experience in echolocation, who told me that large spaces can be distinguished quite easily from small ones. This is because of the reaction time and the changing character of the sound. So, Homo naledi could have used echolocation as a rough instrument. It will be clear that nuances are more difficult to learn, for which a blind person will be motivated. And Homo naledi was kind of blind in the Rising Star Cave.

Is it a gene?

Can we all learn echolocation or do we need a specific gene? Did Ben Underwood as Afro-American have the 'click-gene'? Who knows. And could there be a link with Homo naledi? He had the same ears as Homo sapiens. Nonsense of course, but fascinating anyway:

Echolocation in the Rising Star Cave

Just like 3D mapping, echo chambers from the Rising Star Cave can be mapped by experienced persons. Then we know if this is possible at all. Then we know if  parts of the cave can be distinguished by echolocation.

Can we 'see' a junction? Can we discriminate between cave entries? Have narrow tunnels a different sound reflection? Would be great:

Earnest Seamark, a conservationist with a special interest in bat research, joined the team when they went to Rising Star. He used an ultrasound device to assess whether the robot’s frequency would disrupt bats at all, but as Mrs Kling went about her tasks picking up the litter in the cave, a bat slept peacefully throughout the duration of the clean-up – another feather in the team’s cap!

The robot is capable of picking up bottles and cans and can easily navigate the terrain at Sterkfontein. In the Rising Star Cave, where Homo naledi was famously discovered, it initially struggled in the sand, but after a few on-site adjustments, it moved well. The learners gained access to Rising Star through Steven Tucker, Wits University professional caver and one of the discoverers of Homo naledi, who was impressed with the value of the learners' project:

The grass cable method combined with echolocation would be a rather perfect strategy

Burials

- We know for sure Homo naledi buried his dead in a ceremonial setting. This is proven by the second Lesedi Chamber where Neo is found under identical circumstances. Neo was buried in the deepest chamber, closest to the God of Darkness.

Lesedi Chamber might be discovered later than Dinaledi in a desperate attempt to come as close as possible to the God of Darkness of the life-giving Underworld.

Geological and taphonomic context for the new hominin species Homo naledi from the Dinaledi Chamber, South Africa

The fossil-bearing chamber, named the Dinaledi Chamber (‘Chamber of Stars’ in the Sotho language; Figure 2A), is ∼30 m below surface and ∼80 m, in a straight line, away from the present, nearest entrance to the cave (Figure 2B).

BTW, all life comes from the soil, all plants, all fruits come from the soil. So, also human life must enter the womb of women through the soil. Well, of course they knew about sexual cause and effect, but did not understand how it all came to life. They concluded, it must be the Underworld which is life giving. Bipedal primates saw this happening every day. And deep in the ground lived the God of Darkness, the guardian of all life. That's why Homo naledi sought the deepest places for rebirth without soul.

It is the Underworld which is life giving:
(translation hereafter)

No rebirth or reincarnation without reproduction:

With rebirth (Jesus, with a soul) no bodily remains must be found later on. But reincarnation or resurrection is quite another point. Then, bones are not important, since it is just the soul that continues in the afterlife. That's why we are quite certain Homo naledi believed in rebirth without soul and not in reincarnation.

Assumption 390: Homo naledi's faith was based on inbreeding, because he enforced ancestors to be reborn into Homo naledi wombs. The religion of Homo erectus probably was based on outbreeding, because he chased the females from Homo naledi. (Circular reasoning).

Assumption 376: Tribal rebirth means the conservation of group identity if reborn are former ancestors. This emphasizes group identity from inbred cultures. Otherwise it would concern hybrids. In the case of outbreeding cultures the identity of reborn is not important and hybrids from other tribes are welcomed. This means outbreeding cultures will bury their dead simply in the ground. And because Homo naledi protected the bodies of the deceased fanatically, we decide them to be an inbred culture.

Well, about reincarnation:
(The anonymous 'young woman' means she is not from the family and it is no inbreeding)

Then, this is the origin of human religion:

Homo naledi and inbreeding

The individuals from Homo naledi all looked about the same. Over millions of years they must have become a completely balanced species. Like chimps they must have had an enormous genetic variation, by which they apparently did not die out from autosomal recessive disorders.

Assumption 392: Homo naledi survived for millions of years as an inbreeding culture, apparently sustained by a varied genome. It is proven they were all alike, and probably without autosomal recessive disorders.

Intellectual development bipedal primates

- We know there is an intellectual order in religious concepts. For example 'rebirth' is possible without soul, but 'reincarnation' always demands a soul. There also exists rebirth with a soul. Think of the rebirth of Jesus and the rebirth of the whole Jewish people. Rebirth with a soul is a hybrid, a mix between animal rebirth and human reincarnation, in which the soul makes the difference.

So, rebirth with a soul prevents the loss of identity of the deceased, which would be destroyed irreparable in the afterlife with rebirth without soul. The entity of Jesus would be devalued to an unknown new individual and Jewish people would not recognize each other after rebirth into unidentified new bodies:

- In concluding, rebirth is falsified if remnants from the dead do not disappear. That is why Homo naledy did not dare to inspect Dinaledi Chamber. Would be high treason to their faith. But reincarnation can never be falsified since it is just the soul which leaves the body. On the other hand both forms of revival cannot be confirmed.

- At some point in time Homo naledi must have concluded rebirth is not working. Why? Young rebellious males inspected Dinaledi Chamber and found a mess of bones. Then, they came to a devastating conclusion. And without religion, mammal groups will fall apart. Here, we might witness the disintegration of a whole species, exactly at this point in time. The Rising Star finds might be serendipity, a matter of good luck in science (as the discovery of penicillin). This also means new finds of Homo naledi remains in other caves might be scarce. Anyway, this probably has not continued for thousands of years.

- So, the soul is kind of a Deus ex Machina to maintain the illusion of eternal life. Magical fake degrees of freedom are supplied to rational thinking and mixed to 'religion'. That's the mess Homo sapiens created and yeah, he seems to be proud of his cauliflower brain too.

- In principle, the expanding brain of Homo sapiens is disadvantageous for logical thinking. A growing number of neural pathways delivers irrational and magical ganglia which are fostering psychosis and make logical thinking more difficult than in smaller brains with the same basic structure. Therefore humans have to be drilled in logical thinking not to fall into the vortex of insane religions as monotheism. Maybe small brained people had less problems with rational thinking. Homo sapiens will go extinct by his absurd psychotic brain:

The healthy brain of Australopithecus

The Lunate Sulcus by Ralph Holloway

Ralph Holloway is an endocast specialist who studies the inside skull to determine brain development of hominins. He also investigated the skull of Salam (3.3 Ma; 400cc; Ethiopia) and discovered the three years old child's brain was already rewired and different from chimps. The lunate sulcus marking vision structures had moved back on the skull making place for a larger neo cortex. So Salam was already more intelligent than chimps with 400cc brains:

So remember, it is not just brainsize but also wiring. Hence, don't be depressed ðŸ˜‰.

Tiny human

What excites the team most is a region on the side of H. naledi’s frontal lobe called Brodmann area 45, part of Broca’s area, which in modern humans has links to speech  production. In this part of our brains, the pattern of gyri and sulci is very different from that seen in chimpanzees. H. naledi seems to have had our pattern, even though as an adult its BA45 was not much larger than that of a chimpanzee.
“You look at the naledi cast and you think – holy crap this is just a tiny human,” says Hawks.

Team member Shawn Hurst of Indiana University in Bloomington discussed the findings at a meeting of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists in New Orleans last week. “I would think the implication is that [H. naledi] was moving strongly towards enhanced communication,” he says.

IMPROVED HOMO NALEDI CAVE SCENARIO:

Rebirth in caves without splitting body and soul.

Homo naledi wanted to prevent decay of bodies by worms and insects in the soil. Perhaps, he tried to find the first noticed primitive way of mummifying the sleeping deceased (who remained in their bodies) in the Rising Star Cave. Then it would not be reincarnation, but only tribal immortality of gathered bones in addition to genetic immortality of descendants for eternal tribal identity. It would not yet be rebirth.

But think about it. Then there was no reason to throw them into the chute since there were plenty other and easier caves without all this trouble. No, we miss something in this scenario.

- We also know the underworld in Greek mythology. Homo naledi knew a lot from caves and possibly got the idea a complete underworld existed in the underground connected by all caves he knew. He also knew all life finally started from the soil. So, he knew it was the underworld which was life giving

Homo naledi possibly assumed the giant Rising Star Cave somehow was the holy entrance to new life far beneath the surface of the earth. And the harrowing shark-mouth chute, the 12 meter deep funnel to Dinaledi Chamber was the actual access to that world. This was the big mouth to the underworld and so they threw their deceased right into their next life. Just like Hindus throw their dead into the Ganges. It was the first form of rebirth without splitting body and soul.

Rebirth is possible only if dead bodies are relatively unharmed and after rebirth there must be no remains found. That happened with the body of Jesus and with the bodies in Dinaledi Chamber. Homo naledi didn't expect bodies to stay there forever. He was so sure of his belief that he didn't even bother to inspect Dinaledi Chamber, maybe this was just considered sacrilege. The Rising Star Cave might be the only very special case to study rebirth of Australopiths.

In conclusion:

So, we may conclude the discovery of the Rising Star Cave is serendipity, a matter of good luck in science (as the discovery of penicillin). The Rising Star Cave must be seen as an extremely rare field experiment that satisfies scientific requirements for research into rebirth. And guess what, it is quite possible this is the only cave in the world suitable for rebirth research.

All other facilities might need reincarnation. Homo naledi will likely change our opinion about animal religion completely. And from human reincarnation back to animal rebirth is going through the sound barrier of animal religion. Homo naledi will give humankind a fantastic insight into the development of animal religion.

3D Laser Mapping - a world leader in providing innovative bespoke 3D laser scanning solutions to various industries, were privileged to do some 3D laser scanning with our hand-held mobile laser scanner the ZEB1 at the Rising Star Cave.

In total it took us 3-4 hours to scan 80% of the Rising Star Cave, the total length of the cave measured from the scanned data was approximately +- 1.2 km, and we descended vertically about 30m underground.

New discoveries:

In Dinaledi Chamber Homo naledi desperately tried to find a path to the Underworld. Hence, they checked all corners and holes for an opening but their echolocation click-technique failed or was indecisive. Then, they placed the bodies in corners and holes, hoping for the better. In the end they must have realized that their strategy of rebirth was failing. Therefore, at some moment in time they decided to leave Dinaledi Chamber.

So, eventually they concluded that the bodies were not disappearing and therefore rebirth became questionable. What we see is a desperate attempt to save their faith in the God of Darkness.

Offerings to the God of Darkness

If they only had found children, especially infants, then we could think about offerings for perpetual orgasm for the God of Darkness. See pedophilia on this blog. But older people definitely wipes out this possibility. So, no offerings, it is a cemetery, a burial.
