(252) Homo naledi: In-depth analysis sexual culture

Basic Dimension

http://sexualreligion.blogspot.com/

Number Archive

Below a hypothetical explanatory model that fits the Homo naledi sexual culture rather well.

Two diagrams contain the whole theory:

Assumption 376Tribal rebirth means the conservation of group identity if reborn are former ancestors. This emphasizes group identity from inbred cultures. Otherwise it would concern hybrids. In the case of outbreeding cultures the identity of reborn is not important and hybrids from other tribes are welcomed. This means outbreeding cultures will bury their dead in the ground only. And because Homo naledi protected the bodies of the deceased fanatically, we decide them to be an inbred culture.

It is the Underworld which is life giving:

BTW, all life comes from the soil, all plants, all fruits come from the ground. So, also human life must enter the womb of women through the soil. Well, or course Australopiths knew about sexual cause and effect, but did not understand how everything came to growth and to life. They concluded, it must be the Underworld which is life giving. Bipedal primates saw this happening every day. And deep in the ground - in the Underworld - lived their God of Darkness, the guardian of all life. It is Him who puts the reborn into the womb of women. That's why Homo naledi sought the deepest places for 'rebirth without soul'.

Burials

We know for sure Homo naledi buried his dead in a ceremonial setting. This is proven by the second Lesedi Chamber where Neo is found under identical circumstances.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4559842/

The fossil-bearing chamber, named the Dinaledi Chamber (‘Chamber of Stars’ in the Sotho language; Figure 2A), is ∼30 m below surface and ∼80 m, in a straight line, away from the present, nearest entrance to the cave (Figure 2B). It is situated in the central part of the system and was found during speleological surveys (see methodology section). The only identified access point into the Dinaledi Chamber involves an exposed, ∼15 m climb from the bottom of a large ante-chamber (the Dragon's Back Chamber), up the side of a sharp-edged dolomite block that has dislodged from the roof (the Dragon's Back; Figure 2B). From the top of the Dragon's Back, the Dinaledi Chamber is accessed via a narrow, northeast-oriented vertical fissure, and involves a ∼12 m vertical climb down, with squeezes as tight as ∼20 cm, to reach the floor (Figure 2B,C). The main passage forming the Dinaledi Chamber is ∼25–50 cm wide at its narrowest and ∼10 m long, and expands in width near the intersections with cross-cutting passages (Figure 2C).

Lesedi Chamber might be discovered later than Dinaledi in a desperate attempt to come as close as possible to the God of Darkness of the life-giving Underworld.

Rebirth with and without soul

First Australopiths did not know the concept of 'soul'. But they invented 'rebirth'.  So their religion was based on rebirth without soul. Later Homo erectus discovered the soul and so 'rebirth with a soul' came into being.

Why is the soul so important?

The soul prevents the loss of identity from the deceased, which identity would be destroyed irreparable in the afterlife by rebirth without soulWithout soul the entity of Jesus would have been devalued to an unknown individual and Jewish people would not recognize anyone after rebirth of their whole community into unidentified new bodies. So rebirth with soul conserves body and soul for the hereafter, while reincarnation loses the body but saves the soul. Hence, reincarnation presupposes a soul.

So, understand already in advance that rebirth without soul gave enormous problems to the inbreeding culture from Homo naledi. This because reborn could not be identified by their soul. This means it was uncontrollable if reborn were ancestors from Homo naledi or maybe from Homo erectus.  In the latter case it would have been hybrids (the apple from Eve). This is the focal point of the Homo naledi problemacy.

Homo naledi (2,3 Ma - 235 ka; 550cc) might have had enemies in his environment. They might have feared Homo erectus (2,1 Ma; 900cc):

Muslim males think it is their own choice to reincarnate into their tribe or family, into their inbred descendants created by cousin marriages. But Homo naledi was wiser en wondered if ancestors really were able to return to the tribe of their choice, or that they could be reborn anywhere. Maybe hybrids from Homo erectus would start a new life in the Homo naledi tribe. That would be disastrous, for Homo naledi males hated the handsome Homo erectus males because of sexual competition around naledi females:

So, realize Homo naledi was not stupid and deeply thought about religion. And because he had the brain of a logical thinker we are able to reconstruct his thought process:

The healthy brain of Australopithecus

The Lunate Sulcus by Ralph Holloway

Ralph Holloway is an endocast specialist who studies the inside skull to determine brain development of hominins. He also investigated the skull of Salam (3.3 Ma; 400cc; Ethiopia) and discovered the three years old child's brain was already rewired and different from chimps. The lunate sulcus marking vision structures had moved back on the skull making place for a larger neo cortex. So Salam was already more intelligent than chimps with 400cc brains:

So remember, it is not just brainsize but also wiring. Hence, don't be depressed 😉.

Tiny human

What excites the team most is a region on the side of H. naledi’s frontal lobe called Brodmann area 45, part of Broca’s area, which in modern humans has links to speech  production. In this part of our brains, the pattern of gyri and sulci is very different from that seen in chimpanzees. H. naledi seems to have had our pattern, even though as an adult its BA45 was not much larger than that of a chimpanzee.
“You look at the naledi cast and you think – holy crap this is just a tiny human,” says Hawks.

Team member Shawn Hurst of Indiana University in Bloomington discussed the findings at a meeting of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists in New Orleans last week. “I would think the implication is that [H. naledi] was moving strongly towards enhanced communication,” he says.

Homo sapiens' desert religions cannot be reconstructed logically because of their psychotic cauliflower brain leading to magical thinking:

They might be better off:

Human religion can only be understood psychoanalytically or with sexual religion, which is rationally based.

It sounds really hypothetical but here we see 'human' religion trapped in its own development. It is kind of blockade in religious development on the way of making existential choices. Without a soul the deceased had no free will in the afterlife. How does this get resolved? Self-determination came from the invention of 'the soul' by Homo erectus. After that, it seemed possible to decide where they would reborn or reincarnate. Or course it was all in vain.

Here we see the invention of the soul as the solution of a fundamental deadlock in human religion. Religion was stuck on a local minimum (rebirth without soul), according to the 'method of steepest descent'. It could not easily get out of this local trough and find the absolute minimum (reincarnation with a soul):

Thus, Homo naledi was unable to solve the lack of self-determination from reborn without soul. We conclude this tragedy as the fundamental cause of their cemetery in Dinaledi chamber.

Possibly Homo naledi was familiar with the concept of soul, but must have rejected it. Well, let's be real, the soul is a Deus ex Machina. Homo naledi was completely right to reject it. He had a better brain than us:

So, Homo erectus was unsatisfied with the state of nature and deformed religion by the psychotic concept of 'soul', constructing a complete though fallacious religious theory.

Psychotic Hominins never gave up their sick concept of soul. This magical aberration from their cauliflower brain makes Homo sapiens to a ridiculous thinker, also thinking Homo naledi was kind of stupid.

Below an ancient prayer (recorded in 1920) from Ethiopian males who thought their ancestors were able to determine the tribe of reincarnation by themselves:

With reincarnation and the soul, later Homo erectus gave ancestors more possibilities to make their own choice wherein to reincarnate.

We conclude there are genetic hybrids (the apple from Eve) and spiritual hybrids, who can be identified by their 'the soul' only, which concept Homo naledi possibly knew but rejected 235,000 years ago.

The crisis of the mingling of species

Homo naledi was not stupid at all and fully aware he might be a hybrid from Australopithecus and Homo erectus. Although it was a wonderful combination Homo naledi was not happy, because he lost his identity

Loss of identity is a growing problem from mixed ethnicities, also in our time. Loss of identity is the end-stage of Christianity, where pure outbreeding cultures asymptotically converge into complete individuality, without an overarching God and with as many individual gods as there are individual sexual roles and genders (LGBT). There is nothing new under the sun. Atheism with multiple gods will end into individual chaos, losing the group. Lots of articles about the fading flower of Christianity on this blog.

Their desperate attempt to find the God of Darkness, their efforts to keep their ancestors reborn in the controlled environment of Dinaledi Chamber, close to the tribe, the enforced reborn of ancestors into their own group, are all indications of the crisis of the fear of the mingling of species.

Sexual matching from bipedal primates

We think Homo naledi was an inbred culture. They were traumatized by the centuries-long harassment from Homo erectus and did not trust their inbreeding process completely. Maybe they were fearful of their females who were yearning for genetic diversity, read: were instinctively adulterous with males from other tribes especially with the Serpent from the imposing Homo erectus.

Remember juvenile females from quadrupedal primates (chimps) leave the tribe to find other groups for procreation, three trees farther away. That is the outbreeding instinct, yearning for genetic diversity, like Eve fell for the Serpent. Maybe you will understand your rebellious daughter better now.🌝

The lower part of the body of Homo naledi is not ape-like and fits that of Homo erectus reasonably:

That's why bipedal primate evolution never created an ape-like lower body with a human-like upper body. This probably proves the mingling of bipedal primate species:

Though we all have our fantasies:

The Trees of Paradise

The Trees of Paradise represent the inbreeding vs. outbreeding dimension in animal sexuality from which human religion is derived:

Assumption 346Eating from the Tree of Life gives inbreeding. Inbreeding gives eternal tribal identity. Adam ate inbreeding in the Koran.

Assumption 347: Eating from the Tree of Knowledge gives outbreeding. Knowledge of autosomal recessive disorders. Eve ate outbreeding in the Tanakh.

Two-way inbreeding

Assumption 379 Two-way inbreeding.
Homo naledi symptomizes the crisis of the mingling of species. The mingling of races and ethnicities leads to a loss of identity for hybrids, which Homo naledi possibly were. Inbred cultures use cousin marriages to saturate the genes of the male kin bonded lineage. This way, they try to keep group coherence and genetic identity.

But Homo naledi was so terrified from Homo erectus, who chased their females for ages, that they in addition also worked desperately from the other side, to save as much as possible from their Australopithecine identity.

It is called two-way inbreeding, where they tried to enforce their ancestors, sleeping in Dinaledi chamber, to be reborn in the wombs from Homo naledi females, who had their domicile right before the Rising Star Cave. Therefore, the cave had only one entrance. Furthermore, the Rising Star Cave was chosen because it was nearly inaccessible for Homo erectus (H. ergaster).

Another aspect is that the burying in Dinaledi Chamber prevented the tearing of bodies by scavengers, what prevented a reduction of rebirths and a further decline of the population of Homo naledi. Which means that they were subject to fertility stress as well.

In case of outbreeding the identity of reborn is not important and they could be  hybrids from other tribes.

                                                             -------------------

Fertility stress and inbreeding

Assumption 333Fertility stress is the deeply felt urge to get as many offspring as possible.

Assumption 341'Honor of the family' aims at the survival of the family by inbreeding, in which young females sacrifice their body as incubator for family semen. It is another aspect of 'fertility stress', which is a rat race to avoid extinction by inbreeding, leading to autosomal recessive disorders and high mortality rates.

Assumption 342Fertility stress is a vicious circle, it is a rat race to avoid extinction by inbreeding, leading to autosomal recessive disorders and high mortality rates. It is another aspect of 'honor of the family'.

Inbreeding is a bipedal primate tragedy

Homo naledi lived alone around the Rising Star Cave

The best guess is that Homo naledi lived near the Rising Star Cave because of the cemetery. The cave was their sanctuary, it was the domicile of their God of Darkness who had to be protected. No one else had to dare to enter his residence. The Rising Star Cave reflected their religion, their identity. No way would they leave this place voluntary, as long as they believed in 'rebirth without soul':

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36_LNsN9W3s

They must have been quite alone there. For, if there were other and hostile species around, then they had to fight for their cave. If there were enemies in the immediate environment and they lost they had to move farther away for not to reveal their cemetery. But then they had to transport their dead over a greater distance what is unsustainable over generations and would reveal their cemetery. So, they must have been alone there.

Thus, at least for several generations Homo naledi lived in the immediate vicinity of the cave, quite alone and without immediate enemies. But they were still cautious for possible intruders from passing hostile tribes. Therefore they selected this cave on its inaccessibility.

Incidentally passing intruders had no idea of the cemetery and would not be interested. For them the cave looked like a dangerous dark maze in which they would not dare to get lost.

It took a long time before Homo naledi dared to enter the cave. They had to learn the profession from cave astronaut first. They became fascinated about the horrible character of the cave. Their respect for the God of Darkness grew with the day. Firstly, they had to learn by themselves how to master this monster of a cave. It took them generations around the campfire to come upon the idea of echolocation:

They learned the difference between sound reflections from larger and smaller spaces of the cave, what is elementary skill but already sufficient for mastering the cave:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNVbM0vepYo

Eventually they were delighted to be able to enter the holy residence of their God of Darkness. But it has taken many generations to come so far.

Because there were no intruders, they kept the grass cables in place, since they were confident about security. Also the reborn could safely leave the cave:

Passing hostile intruders had no idea of the cemetery and were not really interested. The cave looked very dangerous and nobody dared to enter and get lost:

A species that behaves like Homo naledi cannot be called 'animals'. They were a highly sophisticated society with a pure human-like religious blueprint. In principle they did not differ fundamentally from nowadays Muslim culture:

Their decision making reflects high intelligence and religious wisdom. They were empathic, buried their dead and must have shown big group coherence. We are on the verge of redefining the Australopithecine brain as much more human than we earlier thought:

There is still another compelling reason why they lived in the immediate vicinity of the cave and without other species around. A reborn individual had to find a Homo naledi womb right after leaving the cave, without risking a hybrid rebirth into other species. Guess what, an Australopith reborn into Homo erectus. They terribly feared the harassment from Homo erectus (H.ergaster) of their females in the past.

They were so terrified that reborn individuals would leave the cave into the wrong direction that they sought and found a cave with just one entrance. This means the Homo naledi population found domicile right in front of the cave. Then, deep under the soil must lie the flagstone with the map of the cave in cables.

Falsifying rebirth

- In concluding, rebirth is falsified if remnants from the dead do not disappear. That is why Homo naledy did not dare to inspect Dinaledi Chamber. Would be high treason to their faith. But reincarnation can never be falsified since it is just the soul which leaves the body. On the other hand both forms of revival cannot be proven.

- At some point in time Homo naledi must have concluded rebirth is not working. Why? Young rebellious males inspected Dinaledi Chamber and found a mess of bones. Then, they came to a devastating conclusion: rebirth does not exist. And without religion, mammal groups will fall apart.

They desperately tried to find cracks and holes in Dinaledi chamber to reach the God of Darkness and put bodies into the holes. But it was all in vain. Yeah, and echolocation was not working with cracks, so it was inconclusive.

Here, we might witness the disintegration of a whole species, exactly at this point in time. The Rising Star finds might be serendipity, a matter of good luck in science (as the discovery of penicillin). This also means new finds of Homo naledi remains in other caves might be scarce. Anyway, this probably has not continued for thousands of years.

If more cemeteries are found on greater distances then it must have been a much wider culture from a whole people. But then we must find out whether this culture expanded in time and/or in place.

- So, the soul is kind of a Deus ex Machina to maintain the illusion of grip on eternal life. Magical fake degrees of freedom are supplied to rational thinking and mixed into 'religion'. That's the mess Homo sapiens created and yeah, he seems to be proud of his cauliflower brain too.

In principle, the expanding brain of Homo sapiens is disadvantageous for logical thinking. A growing number of neural pathways delivers irrational and magical ganglia which are fostering psychosis and make logical thinking more difficult than in smaller brains with the same basic structure:

Therefore humans have to be drilled in logical thinking not to fall into the vortex of insane religions as monotheism. Maybe small brained people had less problems with rational thinking. Homo sapiens will go extinct by his absurd psychotic brain.

Why a cave

Homo naledi apparently wanted to prevent decay of bodies by worms and insects in the soil. But then there was no reason to throw them into the chute since there were plenty other and easier caves without all this trouble. No, we are missing something in this scenario.

We also know the underworld in Greek mythology. Homo naledi knew a lot from caves and possibly got the idea of a complete underworld existing in the underground connected by all caves he knew. He also knew all life finally started from the soil. So, he knew it was the underworld which was life giving

Homo naledi possibly assumed the giant Rising Star Cave somehow was the holy entrance to new life far beneath the surface of the earth. And the harrowing shark-mouth chute, the 12 meter deep funnel to Dinaledi Chamber was the actual access to that world. This was the big mouth to the underworld and so they threw their deceased right into their next life. Just like Hindus throw their dead into the Ganges.

Rebirth is possible only if dead bodies are relatively unharmed and after rebirth there must be no remains found. This happened with the body of Jesus and with the bodies in Dinaledi Chamber. Homo naledi didn't expect bodies to stay there forever. He was so sure of his belief that he didn't even bother to inspect Dinaledi Chamber, maybe this was just considered sacrilege. The Rising Star Cave might be the only very special case to study rebirth of Australopiths.

Two-way inbreeding:

Anyway, Homo naledi males wanted an extra guaranty that their ancestors (sleeping in Dinaledi Chamber) would be reborn in their tribe. Hence, this paranoid system is working from two sides, from real inbreeding by cousin marriages to controlled fictitious rebirth of the ancestors in the wombs of Homo naledi females.

Well, a paranoid but very intelligent system anyway:

Assumption 379Two-way inbreeding.

Genetic variation and inbreeding

Homo naledi was genetically a completely stabilized species in which all individuals looked about the same. Severe inbreeding did not lead to autosomal recessive disorders, as did not happen with Australopiths and chimps too, because these species had enormous genetic variation and did not die out so easily:

So, we think the deeper reason for the rebirth cemetery in Dinaledi Chamber was
1) race or species protection, next to promotion of the rebirth process
2) to prevent a further decline of the population.

It is kind of paranoid that Homo naledi did not completely trust the one-way inbreeding process and wanted to be convinced over the identity of reborn. For, we think that other inbred cultures were limited to one-way inbreeding with cousin marriages. It indicates their extreme fear to die out.

Nobody has been in Dinaledi chamber ever before

No systematic use of the cave has been made before and after Homo naledi. That makes Homo naledi a special people. They must have been fascinated by the Underworld where they thought their God of Darkness lived. Hence, living near the cave would give them extra protection. Did they ever flee for danger through the Chute into Dinaledi chamber. No, for it is certain the chamber is filled with bodies over generations.

Then nobody used echolocation besides eventually Homo naledi

If echolocation was the norm for bipedal primates, then we would see a lot of junk and waste in the cave. But then Homo naledi would have cleaned up the place. Parsimoniously we conclude Homo naledi is the only species that used the cave over generations and kept it clean. We have no factual indication from echolocation. But for Homo naledi we think it is almost impossible to manage the cave without light.

Only Homo naledi was motivated by two-way inbreeding to use the cave as a cemetery. Nobody else needed echolocation. So, Homo naledi was a very intelligent species with only a lot of adulterous females. Hence, they were just like us, completely different from the norm and remarkably creative. We are very lucky with the discovery of this astonishing creature.

How well did the Rising Star Cave fit Homo naledi's needs

If they fled into the cave for Homo erectus then the latter could block Superman's Crawl and nobody could escape, because there was no emergency exit. That's why they never tried to escape into the cave. Eventually they could have made an emergency exit but then the reborn would leave the cave into the wrong direction.

Homo sapiens (350 ka; 1400cc) was the weird nephew from Homo erectus, he was no threat, just a little peculiar:

Could the Rising Star Cave have been deformed the last 236.000 years by which Superman's Crawl would have become smaller.

Well, if Superman's Crawl was much wider earlier, then the Crawl was no effective gatekeeper for Dinaledi Chamber.

Homo naledi fits the current Crawl perfectly. Probably it has always been an effective obstacle to prevent Homo erectus from entering Dinaledi Chamber. It is only that Homo sapiens has the same body size as Homo erectus that we wonder if the Crawl has been wider earlier. But we must not change the state of nature to get a better understanding. Then we better change the theory. Why is nobody asking if Dragon's Back Chamber has been compressed too?

We know that at the surface are fissures from a million year old. Never there has been another entrance in the cave. And if so, Homo naledi could not have used the cave for rebirth.

Here we developed an integral theory for the presence of Homo naledi in the Rising Star Cave. Homo erectus probably was a physical danger for the survival of Homo naledi. All physical problems Homo naledi caused himself to bury his dead must be seen in the light of the threat of Homo erectus. Well, this theory is in accordance with the state of nature. Maybe it is true.

IMPROVED HOMO NALEDI CAVE SCENARIO:

Assumption 375The best strategy for Homo naledi to enter the Rising Star Cave without any form of light was guidance by grass cables, combined with echolocation. But it is quite well possible that they have placed grass cables first, using burning fat as light in big open spaces as Dragon's Back Chamber.

Assumption 377The Rising Star Cave was chosen for 'rebirth without soul' just because of its inaccessibility. Reborn creatures on their way to the womb left the cave with the same route as they came in. Only they knew the way to Dinaledi Chamber. Had Dinaledi Chamber been more accessible through a now disappeared entrance, Homo naledi had probably rejected this cave for rebirth without soul. Then, it was only usable for reincarnation or resurrection of the soul. The soul cannot be harmed by intruders and is able to pass blocked chambers.

New discoveries:

In Dinaledi Chamber Homo naledi desperately tried to find a path to the Underworld. Hence, they checked all corners and holes for an opening but their echolocation click-technique failed or was indecisive. Then, they placed the bodies in corners and holes, hoping for the better. In the end they must have realized that their strategy of rebirth was failing. Therefore, at some moment in time they decided to leave Dinaledi Chamber.

So, eventually they concluded that the bodies were not disappearing and therefore rebirth became questionable. What we see is a desperate attempt to save their faith in the God of Darkness.

Offerings to the God of Darkness

If they only had found children, especially infants, then we could think about offerings for perpetual orgasm for the God of Darkness. See pedophilia on this blog. But older people definitely wipes out this possibility. So, no offerings, it is a cemetery, a burial.

In conclusion:

So, we may conclude the discovery of the Rising Star Cave is serendipity, a matter of good luck in science (as the discovery of penicillin). The Rising Star Cave must be seen as an extremely rare field experiment that satisfies scientific requirements for research into rebirth

All other facilities might need reincarnation if there are more entrances to the cave or  if cemeteries are blocked. Homo naledi will likely change our opinion about animal religion completely. And from human reincarnation back to animal rebirth is going through the sound barrier of animal religion. Homo naledi will give humankind a fantastic insight into the development of animal religion.
