Abraham almost committed an honor killing on Isaac. The myth of Abraham describes the first honor killing in recent religious history, in which Abraham was willing to kill his only begotten tribal son, break the reincarnation cycle of the male kin, and thereby force himself to be resurrected to heaven.

For better understanding remind the following:
Reincarnation means polytheism* (remember Voodoo with its idols) and resurrection means monotheism in heaven.
*For reincarnation in Inbreeding cultures we prefer the term 'serial monotheism', where every tribal head is its own god (ego-theism).
By interchanging above concepts Desert Religions created a reverse paradigm shift in the Myth of Abraham: Jewish scholars replaced polytheism with monotheism and thus changed reincarnation into resurrection as well.
But the latter they kept silent because most desert dwellers at that time believed in reincarnation. They simply removed reincarnation from the Bible. Reincarnation, the greatest bipedal contribution to human religion. What the heck, how did this happen?
Reincarnation, the most significant religious contribution to the evolution of bipedal primates, was willfully excluded from the Bible, just like inbreeding, the primal bipedal religion on which the entire religious house of cards is built (see this blog).
This means Desert Religions wanted to steer a different course, at odds with inbreeding and reincarnation. This is because they wanted outbreeding in heaven with resurrection.
II: Jewish scholars were very intelligent. They must have known the real facts about God's command to Abraham to kill Isaac. But it must be said, they didn't lie and gave a pretty decent portrayal of the myth.
But they also did not speak the full truth, for then the foundations under their 'Abrahamic religions' would have been swept away and resurrection would have changed into reincarnation:
So in the end, 'Abrahamic religions' betrayed history end twisted the evolution, although they had every right to chart a new religious course. Just like Islam is at odds with the Christian Bible. But this betrayal is the cause of honor killings and that's a serious indictment.
III: Another remark is that Abraham was willing to commit a real honor killing on his only born tribal son, to secure his afterlife but now in heaven. (Below you will see that honor killing is the battle between the earthly afterlife of the father and the present life of his daughter.)
Unfortunately, all those God-fearing believers who abhor the possible honor killing of Isaac are not speaking out about the 20,000 honor killings in Islam every year.

Bottom-up retrieval of the development of religious concepts:
We see nothing in the Bible about inbreeding and reincarnation and very little about resurrection. Yet, these are fundamental breakthroughs in the conceptual development of human religion. But we do see references to 'polytheism (idols)' and 'monotheism (God)' as profane religious yearning to power, which are no fundamental religious concepts at all like reincarnation into the earthly afterlife, Homo erectus (2.2 Mya; 900cc).
And so, Jewish scholars were able to twist human religious evolution, where originally reincarnation was the basis of polytheism and resurrection goes around with monotheism.
Note: God's abode was in the universe, probably on Earth prior to Homo sapiens. But that does not mean that the Tree of Knowledge (Outbreeding) already existed in the time of Homo erectus. Homo erectus had a varied DNA and did not die out easily.
He needed no Tree of Outbreeding.
So, a second tree is somewhat superfluous. The bottom-up approach only assumes an opposing tree if it is functional in time. Before the arrival of Homo sapiens, the Tree of Life (Inbreeding) seems sufficient without a counterpart. And so there may be a mixture of myths here between Homo erectus and Homo sapiens.
Islam
The mythological figure Abraham believed in God, just like many Muslim males today. But Abraham did not believe in resurrection (Homo sapiens), but in reincarnation (Homo erectus), again, just like many Muslim males today.
Resurrection was deliberately disconnected from the birth process to eradicate inbreeding meant for earthly reincarnation. That failed hopelessly. Resurrection therefore also did not become a sexual instinct like reincarnation. It's just a word, not connected to breeding, an empty shell, a worthless word:
They bet that Muslim males would give in, but Islamic scholars had no idea of the working of human unconscious. Otherwise they would not have taken the risk. This fatal error forced Islam to indoctrinate 1,400 years of resurrection in heaven. But resurrection will never defeat reincarnation and that made the Muslim faith a mixed and hybrid religion:
Therefore, the center of gravity of women came in heaven (female Allah)
and for men on Earth (tribal gods united under male Allah).
Heaven in the parallel universe obviates the need for earthly inbreeding for reincarnation. It also stops ego-theism, the power of males to determine their own afterlife on Earth.
But as said, this failed miserably and the monotheistic grip on males created a schism, a severe cognitive dissonance between reincarnation (polytheism) in the unconscious and indoctrinated resurrection (monotheism) in the conscious of Muslim males:
Cognitive dissonance creates reincarnation psychoses in the unconscious that causes honor killings. The remedy is to transfer this cognitive dissonance to the conscious to eliminate psychosis:

So, in the evolution it was well known that Eve could not be seduced to eat from the Tree of Life (Tree of Inbreeding), because women hate inbreeding. Likewise, it was illogical to let Adam eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Autosomal Recessive Disorders, because males love inbreeding. That's why Desert Religions let Satan seduce Eve with the Tree of Knowledge (Christianity) and let Adam eat from the Tree of Life (Islam).
Christianity:
Christianity was embraced by Northern European interbred peoples, with a highly diluted instinct of inbreeding, so that an entirely new story of good and evil had to be devised to make sense, in which evil took on new meaning as undefined 'sin', to interpret as in a Rorschach inkblot test.

But 'sin' for no reason is exactly masochistic suffering for to suffer, which made Christianity give a feminine sexual drive the most prominent place in its paradise myth as well as its religion.
So, the clever move of scholars was to not define good and evil other than metaphorical. And where the God of Inbreeding in Genesis literally meant "evil" with "outbreeding," Christians wrote in their Bibles about sin as nameless evil.
Christians replaced the realistic contrast between sexual cultures, namely inbreeding versus outbreeding, with a flat sexual lust: Masochism as the counterpoint to later Islamic sadism. So Desert Religions replaced Breeding with SM-dyad.
This means that Desert Religions pushed human religion even further over the edge into the sexual quagmire, where breeding once reflected honest reality:

Masochism seeks for sadism as new point in space, to draw a straight line for direction for its unsatisfied sexual lust, without which masochism lose all meaning. Religion and BDSM
Furthermore, religion is driven by rituals to form a bond among believers. But rituals are fake, are fictional events. Well, that's exactly the definition of BDSM where events are created to arouse sexual desires.
Both, religion and BDSM are functions of sexuality, so BDSM is a subset of religion or the other way around. I don't want to degrade religion in a childish way. Only show that SM-dyad in Desert Religions and BDSM fulfills the same role:

The God-dimension stems from good and evil
The first bipedal primates (14 Mya; 300cc) derived religion from their prominent sexual culture: inbreeding. Later, good and evil became the intrinsic meaning of this 'God-dimension'.
And it was the Alpha male who dictated the laws to the group, a male-God who shaped morality.
The Alpha male practiced inbreeding:
The primal dimension of religion is type of breeding, going from inbreeding (good) to outbreeding (evil) for Islam (cousin marriages). Reversed from outbreeding (good) to inbreeding (evil) in Christianity.
Of course, monotheism has almost always a male heterosexual God, who terrorizes women. And polytheism (Christianity) is feminine where 'other sexual roles' are empathically acknowledged in the conscious and fill the god-dimension. Therefore, both god-dimensions are sexual opposites, where religion is derived from sexuality:
And now we see why Islam deviates from the norm and why Islam often embraces the opposite morality of the rest of the world. It suppresses 'other sexual roles' in the unconscious and does not develop empathy into 'objects'.
Assumption 50: The polytheistic space of gods (in the archetype of God) exists of five sexual dimensions. With two dimensions, heterosexuality is opposed to other sexual roles. With five dimensions it concerns the following hierarchy:
The first god is male heterosexuality, which is normally seen as monotheism.
The second god is male homosexuality.
The third is female sexual roles.
The fourth pedophilia.
and the fifth bestiality.
The God-dimension in politics
And it is not a matter of whether people believe in God, but whether they recognize and respect this divine moral dimension as a guideline for human agreement, for example in politics. So, never leave the God-dimension out of politics:
In conclusion, see outbreeding as 'good' and inbreeding as 'evil' on the Tree of Knowledge of Autosomal Recessive Disorders. Then one reaches the modern, state of the art interpretation of human religion. And note the primal interpretation in the ancient past was just the opposite: Inbreeding was good, just as cousin marriages in Islam.
Reincarnation is a sexual instinct tied to the birth process. But resurrection is the restoration of one's own body without birth and is just a word. Resurrection can never dispel reincarnation.
Christianity was a polytheistic reaction on the monotheistic power grip of Desert Religions. And polytheism means more gods, more sexual roles acknowledged in the conscious: God, Jesus and Mary to begin with. Followed by a whole train of saints. So, Christianity freed its believers from monotheism, at least to rank 3.
But Islam developed into the other direction, to monotheism with one degree of freedom of State and Religion. Moderate Judaism is in the middle of this sadomasochistic dimension, called 'religion', not in the least because of their female kin bonded lineage, which is based on mtDNA.
A matriarchal bloodline in a patriarchal society, one just has to come up with the idea. Judaism is the best form of government because it preserved the unity of ethnicity and kept the group together and honors females.
